“Vento di Maestrale” is a book cover created through an original collage-style illustration inspired by the landscapes and atmosphere of the Mediterranean islands.
The artwork blends hand-painted textures, cut-paper elements, and digital brushwork, creating an expressive visual narrative rooted in place, light, and movement.

The goal was to develop a cover that feels vivid, tactile, and immersive — more like a window into a story than a decorative image.

THE BRIEF

The task was to design a cover that captures the essence of the Maestrale wind — its motion, its poetic force, and the landscapes it shapes.

• convey the emotional tone of the story through colour and texture
• integrate natural elements such as mountains, sea, birds, and island architecture
• create a composition that balances artistic freedom and clear storytelling
• develop an illustration that stands apart from typical stock-style book covers

OUTCOME

The result is a cover that feels alive, tactile, and atmospheric — not simply an illustration, but a visual immersion into the world of the book.

The final deliverables include:
• a fully custom illustration
• front cover layout
• spine and back cover typography direction
• high-resolution assets for print and digital use
